How is Drake Doing Right Now… Mentally?
Based on Drake’s latest Instagram posts, it seems like he’s doing his best to stay busy and distracted. A couple of days before the Super Bowl, he posted a reel of himself wearing a black sweatsuit covered in bullet holes with smoke rising from his body.
What a way to protest the fact that he’s been taking hit after hit from Kendrick. On the day of the Super Bowl, he posted a thread featuring shots of Drake performing at concerts and some with his close friends gathered around.
The day after the Super Bowl, Drake posted another thread for his most dedicated and devoted fans that’s filled with artsy images of himself hitting the stage. One thing these posts have in common? The comment sections have been disabled on them all!
Drake really isn’t in the mood to read comments from trolls and haters who want to drag him down more than he’s already been dragged.
What Started the Feud Between Drake and Kendrick Anyway?
In 2013, Kendrick fired off the feud by dissing Drake in a song called “Control” (which also featured Big Sean). Drake hit back with “The Language.” But the current mess Drake’s in with Kendrick wouldn’t have popped off at all if Drake hadn’t released a song called “Family Matters.”
That’s when he took things up a notch with fighting energy. In the song, Drake accused Kendrick of domestic abuse and claimed that one of Kendrick’s kids was fathered by producer Dave Free.
It only took 20 minutes for Kendrick to release a response, accusing Drake of being a sexual predator and sex trafficker. He also accused Drake of having a secret second love child. Things took a major turn for the worse for Drake when Kendrick released “Not Like Us.”
With over a billion streams, the song earned Kendrick five Grammy awards just last week. On Sunday, Kendrick led a sensational Super Bowl half-time show.
During the show, millions of fans loudly and proudly sang along. Drake’s rumored ex-girlfriend, Serena Williams, even danced on stage. It kind of seemed like Kendrick inspired the entire collective to revel in Drake’s downfall.
Will the Feud Between Drake and Kendrick Ever End?
We know how the feud between Drake and Kendrick started, and we know how it’s currently going. But will this feud ever come to a healthy conclusion? Drake’s feud with Meek Mill from 2015 to 2016! — so perhaps the Drake v. Kendrick battle will eventually cool off.
Their beef was pretty chaotic since they went back and forth releasing diss tracks about each other — Meek accused Drake of using a ghostwriter and Drake responded with “Back To Back”— a legitimate slaughter sesh against Meek.
Their feud ended on friendly terms in 2018 when they collaborated on “Going Bad”. It marked the end of their drama and showed the world that they were finally cool with each other. Is it possible something like that could happen between Drake and Kendrick at some point down the line? Only time will tell.
