Shooting your shot is nothing new in this generation. Arguably, one of the more surprising half-court tosses comes from Playboi Carti’s attempt to get Kim Kardashian’s attention. The “Middle of Summer” rapper recently hit the studio to release a song that mentions Kim.

What’s even wilder is that Playboi also reached out to Kim privately about having her daughter, North West, featured on a song. 

This update comes in the middle of Kim going back and forth with her ex-husband, Kanye West. The SKKN by Kim founder was recently featured in a photoshoot where she was cuddled up with a Tesla robot, and she’s gotten extreme pushback from tons of social media users.

Playboi Carti Shooting His Shot At Kim Kardashian?

Releasing flirty rap songs is one obvious way rappers can take a stab at who they want to date next. Playboi released the song “Fine Sh**,” where he shouts out Kim and her business, SKIMS. He raps, “I bought that h** a lot of clothes, but she loves her SKIMS/ The money gon’ talk.” 

Things were taken to the next level when Kim reposted the lyrics on her Instagram story, and it didn’t stop there. Playboi reposted Kim’s story with a response that appeared as though he wanted to feature Kim’s daughter, North. He said, “@KimKardashian TELL MY NIECE NORTH SEND ME A SONG.” 

Nothing has been confirmed about the future of Kim and Playboi, nor has it been confirmed whether North will be featured on any of Playboi’s music in the future. However, based on her response to being mentioned by Playboi, Kim might have some interest in the rapper. 

But is this all going to be worth it for Playboi in the future? Kanye West recently took to social media to take his shots at Playboi, and he also dragged Playboi’s baby mama, Iggy Azalea, into the mix. 

Kanye West Has Harsh Words For Playboi

Nobody is truly certain of what goes on inside Kanye’s world. It’s what makes him such an interesting but slightly daunting person to follow online. Kanye made his thoughts and feelings quite clear about Playboi. He tweeted, “CARTI IS JUST A WAY MORE BASIC DUMBER VERSION OF VIRGIL…”

The Virgil he’s mentioning is Virgil Abloh, one of his former close friends. Kanye tweeted and deleted, “I DECIDED NORTH WONT BE DOING ANY SONGS WITH CARTI. HOW IT LOOK FOR ME TO GET LEFT OFF THE ALBUM AND THEN HE ASKED KIM TO HAVE VOCALS FROM MY DAUGHTER I DON’T [GIVE] A F***  ABOUT NONE OF THIS INDUSTRY SH** AND HOW IT’S A SKIMS LINE IN THE FIRST PLACE AND I DON’T GIVE A F*** WHAT NO COMMENTS THE MAN HAS THE FIRST AND FINAL SAY OVER HIS KIDS.”

Playboi calmly tweeted a simple response to clap back, writing, “YE STFU.” The rapper isn’t willing to be pushed around by Kanye, or whether he’s pursuing a relationship with Kim. Playboi Carti is also one of the first artists to call out Kanye for his behavior, which will hopefully start a trend for other rappers. 

Playboi and Kim would make quite an interesting relationship. Kim has shown she isn’t afraid to go after younger guys, as she dated Pete Davidson. Playoi is currently 27 years old, while Kim is 44. Who knows if a relationship will blossom between these two?
