Miley Cyrus’ latest musical era has arrived and diehard fans have every reason to be thrilled. Her fresh album is called Something Beautiful, and according to her, it’s a visual album inspired by Pink Floyd. 

Knowing that Miley’s pulling inspo from a London-based rock band became a global sensation way back in 1965 might seem a tad random, but if you really know Miley, it’s not random at all. 

Since she launched her career, Miley’s gathered inspiration from legendary musicians in close to every decade. Her references range from Britney Spears to Dolly Parton! Here’s what you must know about Something Beautiful.

Miley’s New Musical Era is Certainly “Something Beautiful”

Miley’s always serving looks, and you’ll find evidence of that with a quick scroll through her Instagram. The stunning songstress shares tons of pics where she looks breathtakingly divine. These days, she’s also serving hints about her upcoming album.

She’s been using the profile pic she recently uploaded –– an artsy shot set on the streets of NYC –– to promote her Something Beautiful album. Attention-grabbing posters of the creative have been plastered everywhere for fans to lay their eager eyes on. 

A Miley-centered fan page on Twitter called @MileyEdition shared a clip, writing: “Miley Cyrus is coming!” The response has been pretty amazing so far:

• “Miley is a great singer. I love her.”
• “She needs to go on tour ASAP.”
• “How can she top ‘Flowers’? I mean, she’s totally capable, but that song is just… Wow!”

The question about Miley possibly outdoing the success of “Flowers” is a valid one. The track is a massive hit and spent 100 weeks in Billboard’s number-one spot. “Flowers” has been classified as a global sensation. It was the fastest song to reach more than a billion streams on Spotify. Iconic!

People are completely obsessed with “Flowers” –– its catchy tune, its thought-provoking lyrics, and the terrific music video. Miley’s message of female empowerment still reigns supreme.

Miley strutted her stuff in a gold-colored dress, using the track as an “F you” anthem to her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth. The song’s lore is that it’s widely believed Liam cheated on Miley with his Hunger Games co-star, Jennifer Lawrence. 

The golden gown that Miley rocked is the same one Jennifer wore to the 2012 premiere of The Hunger Games. Yikes! That affair between Liam and Jennifer still hasn’t been confirmed. So, take alla this with a grain of salt, y’all! 

However, the question about whether or not Miley’s new music can hold a candle to “Flowers” or Miley‘s other successful songs is something to ponder.

Miley’s Thoughts on Her New Album

We’re still streaming “Flowers” and songs like “Wrecking Ball,” “Party in the USA,” and “The Climb.” That being said, many of us are super open-minded to anything Miley drops next. 

So… what can we expect from her latest album, especially knowing that it’s inspired by Pink Floyd? More specifically, Miley was inspired by their 1979 album The Wall. 

Miley opened up about the topic in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar saying, “I have this heart-first attachment to it. The visual component of [my album] is driving the sound. It was important for me that every song has these healing sound properties. The songs, whether they’re about destruction or heartbreak or death, they’re presented in a way that is beautiful, because the nastiest times of our life do have a point of beauty.”

Since Something Beautiful will be a visual album, we can’t wait to hear and see everything Miley has to offer this time around.
