“Jojo Rabbit” Nails Meme-Marketing by Mocking Nazis

“Jojo Rabbit” Nails Meme-Marketing by Mocking Nazis

Fox Searchlight

Last week, actor-writer-director Taika Waititi’s trailer for the satirical comedy, Jojo Rabbit, dropped.

The New Zealand-born, Polynesian-Jewish triple threat is set to play an imaginary friend to a young boy. That imaginary friend? Adolf Hitler.

Today, Jojo Rabbit’s official Twitter account began its marketing strategy with a bang. The account hopped on the meme-marketing trend by adding the most absurd and hysterical subtitles to a scene from the 2004 historical-drama film, Downfall. He quote tweeted the meme, replying, “Haaaaaa I forgot about this stupid meme. Now I like it. #JojoRabbit #F**kYouShitler,” and followed up with, “No I didn’t make it. I’m too lazy.” If the movie is anywhere close to how funny the video is, Jojo Rabbit will be a hit.
