Canada’s electronic musical duo, Delerium, hooked up with New York City’s EDM diva, JES. The collaboration resulted in a dazzling new music video, called “Stay.”

Formed in 1987, Delerium began as a side project of Bill Leeb and Michael Balch of Front Line Assembly. After Delerium released their first album, Faces, Forms & Illusions, Balch left. Leeb hooked up with Rhys Fulber, releasing several albums under the Delerium name. Delerium’s sound blends a variety styles, including dark trance, unvoiced industrial soundscapes, and electro-pop. They teamed up with Sarah McLachlan to produce “Silence,” a worldwide hit and perhaps the greatest trance song ever produced.

Anyone into dance music is well-aware of JES and her dazzling talents. Recipient of three Grammy nominations, she captured Billboard’s Number One spot with “As The Rush Comes” and “Imagination.” Working with the crème de la crème, producers like Tiesto, BT, Armin Van Buuren and Above & Beyond, JES’ voice is a vivacious instrument of expression.

Surfacing synths open “Stay,” flowing into an electro-pop tune with trance aromas. The rhythm pulses on a throbbing, sinuous groove, infusing the music with a luscious tempo, as harmonic colors from the synths swell and envelop the tune in pervasive radiance. JES’ gorgeous voice coruscates with creamy, silky sensuality riding on lustrous almost ethereal tones.

The lyrics invest the song with sumptuous, piquant beauty secured by JES’ seductive timbres.

“Time will always show the cracks / Hiding deep in you / And time will slip right thorough your fingers / Running circles round you / I want you to stay… / I want you to stay… / I want you to stay.”

Directed byOlaf Guerrero, and produced by Guerrero and Katheryne Ktee Thomas, the video is a gleaming work of art, juxtaposing liquescent eroticism and Ridley Scott-like compositions of dark and light.

“Stay” is better than excellent, entering the realm of superlative. Full of myriad colors and infinite sonic grace, it’s hypnotic.
