Halle Bailey & DDG’s Custody Battle Just Got Worse
Be careful who you hook up with… you might just be stuck with them for the rest of your life. Halle Bailey and DDG are finding this out the hard way. Public discourse over their son, Halo, has recently become quite a spectacle for fans. Their post-breakup fiasco is rivaling the Blake Lively/Justin Baldoni chaos that also keeps getting worse.
Both have taken recent shots at each other –– but in very different ways. Halle, known for her calm and quiet personality, has been subtweeting DDG based on some of his recent comments. She’s throwing shade with the most subtle social media method ever.
DDG, on the other hand, isn’t holding back AT ALL. He just released a scathing song about Halle and his son. Here’s what you should know about their current custody battle.

It’s 2025, yet we still see celebs subtweeting each other every once in a while. It looks as though Halle did that to her baby daddy by regurgitating his words. During a recent livestream, DDG revealed he wouldn’t take Halle to court over their son because he knows it would make her “unhappy.”
He said, “The judge be like, ‘Oh n***a we see you a great a** dad, we never see this with Black folks.’ This is a rarity. Give this n***a the whole summer, now what?’ We don’t need that when we could just be like, ‘Alright cool, everything smooth, everything cool.’ That’s the reason why I don’t want to go to court. It is what it is man.”
Halle then posted a selfie on Twitter with the caption, “Because I’m happyyy,” adding three emojis for good measure. Fans were divided in her comment section:
- “Let DDG see his kid.”
- “Clap along if you know that DDG is a deadbeat!”
- “Let that man get his kid ASAP.”
- “DDG, you fumbled a queen.”
A couple of years back, Halle’s sister, Chloe Bailey, got slammed on the internet for a completely different reason. People accused her of being too overly sexualized at the time.
She chose to speak out over internet backlash in defense of how provocative her posts were. Chloe is now thriving in the entertainment world. If Halle decides to clap back against the world as Chloe did, it could benefit her.
Whether or not it’s all for optics, DDG constantly posts pics and videos whenever he has custody of Halo. They both appear to be incredibly happy. DDG is growing more frustrated as the days go by, though. He released his frustrations against Halle in a new song as proof.
DDG’s New Song Clearly Takes Aim at Halle
Halle’s post may or may not have been a dig at DDG, but his new song certainly was written with the Little Mermaid actress in mind. DDG’s newest hit is titled “Don’t Take My Son.” It’s a clear message to his ex-girlfriend –– and the world, for that matter. He wants to have access to his child.
In the song, DDG raps, “Don’t take my son, cuz he is all I got. I’m just having fun. I don’t love these thoughts.”
He then sings, “You tell me that you going to move on but I know you not. Trying to make me pay to see my son, that’s going to make me hurt, that’s going to make me pissed, it’s going to make me sick…”
DDG is obviously struggling with Halle and her willingness to let him see their son. He accused her of making him PAY to see their son. He revealed that he’s having incredibly dark thoughts based on his current reality.
If all of this is actually what’s happening behind closed doors, this custody battle is only bound to get worse. However, if DDG isn’t being truthful about this stuff, that should also be addressed.
The mess between Halle and DDG confirms that everyone should be super careful about who they enter parenthood with. These two celebs will be tied together for the rest of their lives now… which they both seem to hate.
They’re finding themselves down a path similar to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who have also been facing their fair share of heartache in front of the public. Hopefully, Halle and DDG’s situation gets resolved without hurting anyone worse than they already are.
