FRANKIE Learns to Cope in “Strangers”

Singer-songwriter FRANKIE is a breath of fresh air in the pop music genre.

She’s playful, unique, and unapologetically herself. Her brand of dance-oriented pop is rhythmic and infectious, featuring many musical nods to 90’s pop and, of course, the singer’s emotive voice. Musically gifted, FRANKIE taught herself to play guitar and piano by age ten, and decided to channel that talent into her own music by the time she was a teenager. In 2015 she released her debut EP, Dreamstate, a collection of five songs that originated in her bedroom on her acoustic guitar, and were soon translated into exciting, synth-filled pop.

Now, she’s back with a new EP set to be released at Midnight on Valentines day. The EP is FRANKIE’s most personal yet, detailing the singer’s journey through a difficult break up, with each of the songs exploring one of the seven stages of grief. In anticipation of the release, FRANKIE and her team shared “Strangers” with Popdust, one of the tracks off the new EP.

FRANKIE said, “Strangers is one of the most personal and relatable songs on the EP. I’ve had this moment with every one of my ex’s; you bump into them years later post breakup and you catch up on family and mundane things …and ignore the fact that you shared one-of-a-kind moments together that you won’t ever share with anyone else. It’s about how you can go from being the number one person in each-other’s lives, to becoming complete strangers. Heartbreaking, but very true.”
