Now that Love is Blind Season 8 is here, reality TV lovers have much to say about the latest cast. There’s always drama with each group of contestants, but this time around, fans are annoyed about something quite different.

The show’s concept revolves around singles falling in love without ever actually laying eyes on each other. Since most people who get cast on the show are conventionally attractive, fans have noticed that these are people who could easily find love in the real world if they wanted.

Something diehard fans of the show would like to see in the future? Conventionally unattractive contestants!

Why Are Most Love Is Blind Contestants So… Hot?

Signing up for a show like Love is Blind to find your soulmate makes a lot of sense when you don’t feel you’ve been given a fair chance of love in the real world. Folks who automatically face rejection based on their appearance struggle to connect romantically with others.

Wouldn’t it make the most sense if the slots on Love is Blind were reserved for that exact demographic. At least, that’s what tons of fans are saying on social media. An entire Reddit thread has been launched to discuss this topic with viewers loudly  sharing their frustrations.

One person wrote, “I love this show, but dammit, just make one season with a mix of conventionally attractive people with others who are wildly successful, but not extremely attractive. Show me ‘love is blind!’”

Someone else responded, “They’ll never do that. I don’t know why they won’t even put one person you see at the grocery store or Walmart in this show. And if they do, that person never makes it to the weddings and they’re only shown for like a millisecond.”

A third fan chimed in with, “Yes. I love this idea, I wonder if producers will figure it out. This show makes zero sense to me. The title is Love is Blind, but every single person is attractive…”

Odds are, it’s unlikely producers will go out of their way to cast conventionally unattractive contestants for the show. Historically speaking, Netflix leans towards casting beautiful, sexy contestants – even if they don’t always have the best intentions.

Would Casting Conventionally Unattractive Contestants Lead to Actual True Love?

There’s a huge chance marriage success rates would be higher on Love is Blind if contestants weren’t chosen based on the way they look. Clearly, Netflix producers only care about physical appearances, and with each season, more contestants are joining just to gain clout and recognition with each new season.

Over the years, multiple contestants have been exposed for joining the show solely to reach higher levels of fame. Most recently, Nick Dorka was exposed by his ex-fiancé, Hannah Jiles, for that specific reason.

He jotted down a short list of his goals for the year, including becoming the “most famous participant of Love is Blind.” Nick never expected anyone to see that list, but his worst nightmare came true when Hannah posted it on social media.

She took a pic of his journal entry and uploaded it to Instagram. It certainly came as quite a bit of a shock to viewers who thought Nick was on Love Is Blind for genuine reasons. Nick was a conventionally attractive contestant on Season 7 who acted like he had the purest intentions to find a wife.

Nick’s big dream of attention from Love is Blind didn’t exactly play out in his favor. Will the producers start casting less traditionally attractive people to avoid this type of chaos? As of now, probably not.
