Electric Pineapple Releases ‘Good Girls, Bad Habits’

The London-based production duo known as Electric Pineapple unveils the lyric video for “Good Girls, Bad Habits.”

The song features singer-songwriters Ben Lythe and Raven, and comes on the heels of Electric Pineapple’s two previous singles, “Bad Influence” and “Stay,” both of which hit the Top 30 on the Music Week Commercial Pop chart.

Electric Pineapple is Andrew Kingslow and Trina Smith, who between them have worked with M.I.A., Lily Allen, Future Cut, and Virgin/EMI, accumulating millions of streams. In the last year, the duo decided to do their own thing.

According to the duo, “”Good Girls, Bad Habits” tells the story of taking love for granted, how we don’t always know what we have until it’s taken away.”

The song opens on soft electro-pop flavors and then escalates into a potent banger rife with dance-lite energy. A thick bass line and crisply popping drums power the rhythm to a compelling level, as colors from the synths throb and flash with bursting energy.

The vocals of Lythe and Raven have similarities to Justin Bieber and Lana Del Rey, blending with the songs scrumptious timbres. The harmonic effect flourishes with simmering seductive blazes.

Lyrically, the song starts as an antiphonal dialogue and then the two voices merge on the chorus.

“Good girls, bad habits / You want it now/ But you just can’t have it / Gun shot / Too late / A little more, baby / Just a taste of it / I know I might have pushed you too far / You shoulda never left me / I shoulda never left you.”

“Good Girls, Bad Habits” is full of fresh, cool harmonics and posh vocals.
