If you’re like me and you’re constantly working, the last thing on your mind is shopping for clothes. When I finally have a day to myself, I’m sleeping in and then going out for drinks with my friends. I’ve settled into a sort of uniform that I order online, buying one pant and shirt brand over and over again, which I know looks decent. But lately, I’ve been feeling the need to step up my look. I recently heard about Bombfell, a service that picks out your clothes based on your personal preferences and delivers them right to your door. After reading a bunch of positive reviews, I figured I’d give it a shot.
The signup process was easy. All I had to do was fill out a short survey about my sizing and preferences. As for my style choices, I chose stuff that looked like the clothes I was used to buying. Classic, but nothing too preppy or hipster. At first, I was a little skeptical that this technology could determine my taste in clothes, but it was good to know they give you a 7-day try-on period to send back anything you don’t like and keep the items you do like.
In a few days, I came home to my first shipment, packed in a box. Nothing luxurious, just practical. I’m normally a procrastinator but I was pretty eager to see what they picked out. I tried on 3 shirts and 2 pairs of pants, and was surprised that they all fit well and looked good. My two favorites: A casual pair of Halsey pants and a light Cooper Jones jacket. I ended up returning a shirt in the pre-paid bag due to its looser fit, but overall, I was impressed by
Bombfell’s selections and customer service. I kept the rest, and it was a pretty good value, considering how much time and effort I saved.
In the next few weeks, I was feeling braver about the colors and styles and contacted my stylist to include more color variations. The following month, I received a new shipment with exactly that: a collection of shirts and pants all in cool colors.
As expected, all of my friends have been busting my chops ever since I signed up and showed off my new “style,” but now I’ve even convinced a few of them to sign up. Fortunately, Bombfell has a big selection of brands and clothes, so we don’t end up matching at our monthly 18-hole rounds.
Bombfell has made it so much easier to stray from my boring uniform without any effort. And that means, more time for me.
