Anarbor is back with the release of their dynamic single “MIA.” After a surprise announcement last week, the single became highly anticipated among Anarbor’s loyal fan-base prior to its June 15 release.
The band remains true to their roots with this single, a unique blend of their influences, including pop-punk, indie pop, and alt rock. It picks up where their eponymous album left off in 2016, presenting an even more refined sound, along with their classic Anarbor edginess.
The track’s lyrics detail the experience of life on tour, specifically being “MIA” (missing in action) from the one you love, as well as dealing with the pressures and consequences of being on the road for a long period of time.
The vulnerability echoed in lead singer Slade’s voice adds a layer of authenticity to the track that enables listeners to connect with the song’s impressive lyricism. An instant emotional connection is created between listeners and the band. These emotions are wrapped up beautifully through the track’s distinctive guitar riff, steady drum beat, and heartfelt vocals, culminating in an incredibly infectious tune. It’s an addictive track that you’ll want to listen over and over.
The track offers a glimpse into the life of musicians on the road, and is especially fitting for the band as they are currently on an extensive tour of the United States, until mid-July, with fellow indie rockers Alvarez Kings.
