There's a "Blue's Clues" Reboot and It Actually Looks Great

You better believe we're looking for Blue's Clues.

In what may go down as the greatest reboot ever created, Blue's Clues & You! provides the clash of titans we've always dreamt of for Nick Jr.'s hit dog mystery franchise.

The trailer for Blue's Clues & You! (officially dropped on International Dog Day) introduces us to Blue's new housemate, Josh. Right off the bat, Josh lets everyone know that he's not messing around. Along with making some great silly faces (Josh is very expressive!), this dude reveals that his Handy Dandy Notebook is also a phone. You read that correctly, Josh is here to take Blue's Clues straight into the future with his high-tech sleuthing devices. But lest anyone worry that new Blue's Clues might be flying too close to the sun, Josh also assures us that he has not forgotten his roots.

See, Josh is no stranger to the Blue's Clues family. In spite of their ethnic differences, Josh is former hosts Steve's and Joe's cousin. He proves this by calling both Steve and Joe on a three-way Handy Dandy Notebook phone call. This is the stuff legends are made of. You can watch all of it go down in the trailer right here:

Wow. Just...wow. Talk about a merging of the minds. We're looking at three generations of Blue's Clues boys together for the first time, and there's just so much information to unpack. Here's what we know so far:

-Steve is a detective now, and he runs Blueprints Detective Agency. He's also started wearing a pretty unseemly fedora, possibly to hide male pattern baldness. Steve seems like he might have seen some sh*t, and we wouldn't be surprised if the Blueprints Detective Agency has lead him to witness some pretty grisly stuff.

-Joe has a new purple graphic tee and looks like he might have been working out lately. Joe has always been a bit of a goofball, but he's surprisingly handsome now. Like, damn Joe.

-Blue lookin' fresh.

-Both Steve and Joe think that Josh may not be very smart, meaning he's going to need a lot of assistance from the audience in order to piece together Blue's clues. "I can tell he's gonna need a lot of help," Steve directly implores the viewer. He pauses for a moment, looking uneasy before softening the blow: "Like I did."

-Steve and Joe have both learned sign language. Before ending the phone call, they thank the audience both verbally and in ASL. It's a nice touch, so hopefully Josh learns it, too.

-Josh has a really great face. It's so pliable.

Ultimately, Blue's Clues and You! seems perfectly lined up to be the ultimate rendition of the Blue's Clues franchise. We can't wait to experience the adventures of Josh and Blue as they journey through weird portal paintings to solve new mysteries. This might even be the only reboot ever that is totally warranted and well-deserved. Blue's Clues and You! premieres on November 11th at 9 am on Nick Jr., and you better believe we'll be calling in sick to watch.
