“I know all the tips. Y’all are here to get all the tips.”
Alex Consani, affectionately known as Ms. Mawma among her friends and fans, is one of the bubbliest people on social media. She became a model at just 12 years old, the youngest transgender model in the industry, breaking down barriers and revamping the modeling industry. Her radiance is undeniable, and in a recent video for Vogue, she reveals her simple but stunning beauty routine. So you can glow like her in less than 15 minutes.
With her vibrant vibes and high-quality products, she shows you how to beat your face like a top model. She’s already influenced how I treat my face each morning — I’m going to dive into the Alex Consani beauty routine so we can all look as fresh as this trans icon.
The Skincare Secrets: Slapping and SPF
Alex starts the video by rubbing some ice cubes under her eyes and along her jawline. Experts say this cooling beauty trick can freshen up your look and promote circulation. However, I want to ask you to be careful! The freezing temperature can damage skin, so use ice in your beauty routine sparingly and consider placing a plastic bag or cloth between your skin and the ice.
She then turns to the iS Clinical Youth Eye Complex, dabbing it on her fingers and then on her face. Next, she refreshes her under eyes with Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Eye Patches.
Here, she gives my favorite tip of the whole video — to gua sha with serums and lotions in an outward and upward motion. She demonstrates for us using the Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum and Sephora Collection Rose Quartz Gua Sha. Begin around your nose and pull your skin gently up and back. It’s like you’re reminding it to stay awake and keep you young!
Alex also recommends giving your face a loving slap, which boosts circulation for revitalized skin. We also get an essential tip handed down from Alex’s grandma, who told her to always care for her hands. As she puts it, “You could be fab in the mug, but if your hands aren’t hitting…who’s gonna hold them?” Harsh but true. Thanks for the reality check, Alex.
The Weleda Skin Food is her secret for nourishing her facial skin. And she slathers on the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sunscreen SPF 60 because we all know the sun is the enemy of young skin.
The queen of bleached brows wraps up her skincare routine and makeup prep with Lumify Redness Reliever Eye Drops and a hydrating lip balm.

The Beat: Reverse Contouring and Karaoke
Alright, she’s ready for the real beat. Ms. Mawma starts with Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch, praising the lightweight feel. She recommends starting in the middle and working your way out with delicate dabs. I love her for saying to avoid under eyes until later because foundation and concealer sometimes sit on one another weirdly if not applied correctly. Remember, babes, foundation over concealer, not the other way around.
Speaking of concealer, that’s the next step. Ever since watching this video, I’ve overhauled how I apply concealer. I used to just dab concealer on my dark circles. But now, I’m using concealer and a touch of highlighter all around my eyes. And, very importantly, our girl advises you to let the product sit and soak in a bit. I promise this has changed how my concealer looks for the better.
Now for the real contouring. Alex creates a contour with her concealer by applying it from the middle of her ear down to her mouth. This line is important for highlighter and blush, to define that cheekbone. It creates that “reverse contour,” as she calls it, giving you a “feline, snatched mug” that we all crave.
To finalize that gorgeous air-brushed look, she uses Pat McGrath Labs Sublime Perfection Blurring Under Eye Powder. These products are the key to her flawless, glass skin — and I’d say some helpful genetics. At this point in her beauty routine, her pores are seemingly nonexistent and her complexion is simply perfection.
Onto the most fun and fabulous part: The eyes! To be more specific, the smokey eyes. She starts with a brown shade from Pat McGrath Labs Luminous Legends: Mega Eye Shadow Palette. With an effortless swipe of the brush, she creates a wing along her lid and the sides of her eyes for a defined yet soft look. Silly me, I was using my eyeliner first. No more!
Queen Consani pauses to let her liner and shadow set, and we’re blessed with a quick karaoke session. This is why I love her.
After serenading us, Alex recommends getting close to the water line — the space between the lash line and the eye itself — with eyeliner for an “icy stare.” And she tops it again with a brush of brown shadow, something I’d never have thought of. But it sets the pencil liner so it lasts through all your partying. She wraps up the eyeshadow, using her finger to pat on a shimmery nude color on the spacious part of her lids. So simple, so beautiful.
My mortal enemy enters the chat here: an eyelash curler. I clipped my eyelid with them far too much as a teen and am still reeling from it. But Alex makes it easy-breezy. She tops the curly lashes with YSL Beauty Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara.
Using a clear Glossier Boy Brow, she highlights those famous bleached brows of hers. I highly recommend the Boy Brow for anyone who prefers a natural brow look and not sharp brow lines. If you’re considering the bleached brow look, I recommend lightening them with a temporary dye first. Sadly, not all of us have Alex Consani’s face card, and pulling off bleacher brows is tough.
Her lips get some love from Pat McGrath Labs Dramatique Mega Lip Pencil. She does overline because someone once told her she had “slit lips.” What a vicious thing to say, but she does look glamorous as hell with the overline.
A spritz of Loewe Un Paseo por Madrid Doré Eau de Parfum is the final touch in her beauty routine, a “get you a husband with a Birkin” scent.
