Whether you know one, or you’re someone who aspires to be one, we can all say “Super Moms” are pretty amazing. And as far as I’m concerned, any mom is a “Super Mom.” As long as she’s still standing at the end of the day, she wins. My best friend is a single mom and her life is chaos just like mine — she is the “Super Mom” I aspire to be. Her motto is to take one day at a time and anything you survive only makes you stronger. We both have two kids, work full-time, and her husband is also out of the picture so we lean on each other for support and share all of our secrets. She recently discovered a new subscription for single ladies like us that she uses to reward herself. She feels like there’s someone on the other end specifically working for her, finding her great products. I’m lucky if I can find one new “anything” a year, forget about a box full of goodies every month, so when I heard this I knew I had to give it a try.
SinglesSwag is a monthly subscription box that aims at making single women feel beautiful and empowered. The boxes come in two sizes, “SinglesSwag” is the larger version with five to seven full sized products and “SinglesSwag Petite” is a smaller version with three to four full sized products. The items range from organic bath and beauty products, to trendy fashion accessories, books, and even delicious snacks. The average retail value of the large box is $175+ and the smaller box is valued at $100+.
The first time I received a
SinglesSwag box, I completely forgot that I had even placed an order, so when I saw the white box with “LoveYourself” imprinted on the side I immediately got excited. I couldn’t remember the last time I had received a gift. I’m usually the gift giver, so to be on the other side felt really nice . After making dinner and putting my kids to bed, I was finally able to open the much anticipated box. I decided to make the whole unboxing a special event – I put on my coziest set of PJs, turned on an episode of The Bachelor, and poured myself a nice big glass of Pinot. When I opened the box, it did not disappoint. It was filled with seven full-sized, fun treats- A Vera Bradley adult coloring book and colored pencils to go with it, Carrot + Rose hand cream, a Nue nude eyeshadow collection, a cute wishbone necklace, waffle snacks from Belgian Boys and my most favorite item – a So Susan Afterglow illuminator. It’s funny how these seemingly simple products brought me so much joy. I felt like my kids on Christmas morning.
While my life has not gotten any less hectic, SinglesSwag has give me something to look forward to and helps me remember to take time for myself. When I see that white box at my front door, it always puts a smile on my face. My best friend was right – sometimes, all you need is a simple reminder that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to and that you are actually that “Super Mom.” I am very happy with my subscription and it has definitely been the perfect gift to myself.
