Since rising to superstardom in the late 90s, Britney’s legendary life has been riddled with highs and lows. From a messy public breakup with Justin Timberlake to a conservatorship that lasted way too long, there’s much to explore in a biopic about the “Circus” songstress. 

Who would bring more elegance and grace to the role between Addison and Millie? Here’s what you should know about all this:

The Argument For Addison Rae as Britney Spears

Addison gave serious Britney vibes in her “High Fashion” music video, which just dropped last month. She pulled off the sexy schoolgirl look that Britney fiercely channeled in her music video for “Baby One More Time” in 1999.

Addison further paid homage to Britney by incorporating a bottle of Brit’s iconic fragrance, Fantasy, in her music video’s background. Fans are arguing that Addison went out of her way to make sure the perfume was visible.

One person tweeted, “A bottle of Britney’s Fantasy perfume in Addison’s music video for High Fashion… This was absolutely not a coincidence.”

In another scene from the music video, Addison emulated Britney’s vibe with the wet hair look. Plus, the actual sound of “High Fashion” is super reminiscent of the type of music Britney herself might release — with the catchy vibe of Britney’s early hits.

Back in 2024, when Addison was asked out if she’d like to play Britney she responded in the most humble way ever. 

According to iHeartRadio, she said, “I honestly don’t think anyone deserves to play her. She’s such an enigma and such an icon. I don’t even think it’s right to compare me to her at all. I think she really created something that is untouchable and so in its own lane that nobody will ever truly be able to replicate what she did for music and even the entertainment industry.”

So… It’s pretty damn clear Addison is a fan. Will she let those humble feelings get in the way of snagging this role?

The Argument For Millie Bobby Brown as Britney Spears

Rumors about Millie possibly landing the role have been running rampant, and Millie isn’t opposed to the idea. According to Entertainment Tonight, Millie boldly spoke on it — saying, “Nothing would make me happier than being able to play such an iconic, beautiful person. I leave that to the gods.”

She also told Access Hollywood, “[I’d] love nothing more than to be part of her story. I want someone to bring it to life in the most beautiful way, and I’d always be open to that.“

A source reached out to Daily Mail saying, “Millie Bobby Brown is so desperate to play Britney that those close to her feel it has become her life mission right now. She believes she was born for this role.”

It seems Millie is truly on board! A quick scroll through her Instagram proves that she’d happily bring the Britney persona to the silver screen. Millie’s hair is usually dark brown, but these days, she’s been rocking platinum-blonde tresses. 

And, the content she’s posting lately is giving late 90s/early 2000s girly pop energy, too! She looks more like Britney than ever.

But-but-but, according to Perez Hilton, there’s a possibility that Britney herself isn’t cool with the idea. We haven’t heard Britney outright reject Millie, but an anonymous source said, “The problem is, Britney isn’t on board. She doesn’t see the resemblance.”

All hope isn’t lost for the Stranger Things actress, though. Casting for Britney‘s biopic is still up in the air for now, which means it’s fair game for both Millie and Addison.
