Hendrix shows us what he’s made of.

August 25, 2018 | Stars in his eyes, Shane Hendrix glows from the inside out. His charm is radiant, and there is really no way of escaping it. When he sings, too, his silky tenor cleanses the palette, flooding the senses and wringing you until you’ve got nothing else left to give. To be truthful, he’s spellbinding. “Final Call,” as you’ll witness below, is a tour de force moment, remarkable in its simplicity but intense and heartfelt and overpowering.

During his stop into the Popdust office, Hendrix discussed his run on The Voice Belgium, his continued hustle, forthcoming EP titled Loyal and working with Nicki Minaj (on “Party Like a Rockstar”). Check it out above.

Hendrix’s creamy take on Charlie Puth’s hit single “Marvin Gaye” is one for the books. During the nail-biting battle round of The Voice Belgium, he whipped out his naturally-endowed charisma, much to the satisfaction of the roaring crowd and viewers at home. He faced off against worthy adversary Betty Cooper, who more than held her own, and while Hendrix might not have lasted on the show, he made his imprint. The performance video now has more than 15 million views. It’s glossy mainstream pop meets Grease; it’s charming but sexy. What more could you want?

Two years after his stunning performance showcase, Hendrix has been gearing up for the release of his debut EP, titled Loyal, expected later this year. From the cunning, incisive beauty of “Final Call” to the piano-based saloon-romper “It Don’t Matter,” awash with Queen-quaking stomps, to the fluorescent stitching of “Imma Be the One,” the pop upstart is gunning to explode. It also helps that rapper Nicki Minaj comes to the assist on another song called “Party Like a Rockstar,” battered with frozen synths and Minaj’s fierce spitting.

His early roots of musical theatre allowed Hendrix to explore larger-than-life stories, outlined with soaring melodies and courage to step into someone else’s shoes. His biggest musical theatre stage credit is his role as the wide-eyed Oliver in the landmark Oliver musical, written by Lionel Bart and first performed in 1960. That theatricality is certainly present in his pop music, but Hendrix cuts his teeth on Top 40-ready beats and grooves for days on days on days.

Now signed to Universal Records and Absolute P Entertainment, Hendrix also enjoys the company of four other The Voice alum as part of The Fourth Kingdom, fulfilling another creative component to his thriving craft. The band’s Acoustic Sessions EP, out now, further confirms Hendrix’s talents as a showman and a vocalist.
