1. Did you find the audio motivating and instructive compared to video or in-person training?
Absolutely! Usually, focusing on the TV or computer to watch a workout video is too much trouble while I’m trying to do a move perfectly. The audio, on the other hand, is a great balance of having the instructor in my ear telling me what to do while actually being able to execute the session easily. Plus, you can see your progress week to week—how many workouts you’ve done, how many minutes total elapsed, calories burned, and more. It’s everything you need to know about your health.
2. What was your favorite part about the app?
I love how each workout is categorized and personalized based on what you’re looking for. For instance, you can see if a workout is easy or intermediate, how long it’ll be, what kind of music it’s set to, and more. Plus, you can filter workouts based on the same details—so if you’re like me and can sometimes only workout for 20 minutes, you can easily find workouts that fit your needs.
3. Was it easy to use at the gym/with gym equipment?
Definitely! I always go to the gym with phone in hand, which meant I always had new exciting workouts to try. For some workouts, all you need is your body and a bit of space. Others call for weights or other equipment, which is when I’d do the Aaptivworkout at the gym. Using the app workouts was the first time I felt truly confident at the gym instead of aimlessly wandering around or doing a boring elliptical workout for a few minutes.
4. Who was your favorite trainer?
I love trainers who are super motivational and intense and will really push me to my limits. For me, that was Rochelle. She really challenges your efforts but provides good tips and feedback along the way. Her training also includes marathon training programs—10K, half marathon, and full marathon—which are great for beginners or advanced runners focusing on an upcoming race.
5. How was their music choices?
Rochelle’s music choices are one of the main reasons she became my favorite trainer. She has a lot of workouts set to electronic music, but she also incorporates a lot of pop music which is great for someone like myself who likes running to top hits and songs I can sing along to when working out.
6. Tell us a little about your workout goals and how Aaptiv fit in with those.
Before trying Aaptiv, I set a goal of working out 3-4 times a week. I wanted to find workouts that easily fit into my schedule and ones I actually enjoyed doing. The app definitely helped me accomplish these goals because I found myself wanting to try more and more workouts every week and having ample time to complete even the shortest of workouts before work or when I got home before dinnertime.
There are very few workout programs, classes, or trainers who cater to exactly what I was looking for, but Aaptiv is different.
