Beauty In The Breakdown premiere their spectral new single today on Popdust. It's called "Thinkin Bout You." Made up of front woman Chastity Ashley, who has played drums and percussion for Duran Duran, Cypress Hill, Tom Morello, and Alice In Chains, and electro/rock guitarist Ian Alexander, the band has beau coup credentials.

Adding their stellar talents to the music are Grammy award-winning Tim "Sonix" Rouse on keyboards, and bassist Alexandria Reyes. Together, this gifted group of musicians produces a future-pop sound that's vibrantly scrumptious.

Inspiration for the song arrived in a dream to Ashley. It's about finding your one true love, your soulmate, and exchanging vows of eternal adoration, only to have your lover suddenly and mysteriously vanish. Heartbroken and abandoned, you can either wallow in despondency or adapt, focusing your emotional energy on your future happiness.

Emanating an ultramodern-pop ambiance, "Thinkin Bout You" rides a swelling infectious melody full of tight streaming harmonics. There's vast primal power in the tribal percussion, giving the tune a hyperbolic groove contrasting with the erotic, glossy tones of the shimmering synths. In combination, the Jovian beat and avant-garde sonic hues form a muscular pulsing rhythm that packs a visceral punch.

Ashley's voice foams with voluptuous flavors, bubbling, boiling, and effervescent. The extra-suspensory quality of her concentrated tones locks the song down, giving it a phantasmagoric essence. For all its delicacy there's a fulsome affluence to it that's entrancing.

The video, directed by Ktee Thomas, layers surreal digital, mechanistic images over Blade Runner-like subliminal flashes of vast cityscapes, like something out of a futuristic remake of Metropolis. The flow and feel of the images produce shattered tesserae of dream-like experiences.

"Thinkin Bout You" is lit! The intersection of gushing harmonic energy, Ashley's seductive voice, and cogent tribal percussion infuses the song with splendid dynamism.
