The Popdust Files: pentatonix, sesame street

As if we needed another reason to fall in love with Pentatonix, they go and do this.

The a capella fivesome are set to appear on Sesame Street Feb. 7. Of course, ahead of that episode, fans get treated to a musical extravaganza of numerical (and delicious) proportions. In the first sneak peek, Scott Hoying, Kirstie Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola — otherwise known as “four people singing right now!” — teach us how to count to five. Cue cameo by a spotted moo cow!

In the second clip, the band performs an electric mashup of “C Is For Cookie” and “Rubber Ducky.” How cute are they?!

“Meeting Grover is obviously awesome,” says Grassi of their upcoming appearance on the hit children’s show.

“Cookie Monster is my favorite,” blushes Hoying. Maldonado adds, “Along with great characters, Sesame Street has always had great music.”

But there’s a little discrepancy among the band members over the show’s best song. “We’re having a little debate amongst the group,” Hoying explains. “Avi, Kevin and I think ‘C Is For Cookie’ the jam.”

“I’m a ‘Rubber Ducky’ man all the way,” Grassi interrupts. “Am I right, Kirstie?”
