Having grossed over $60 million in sales of Katy Perry tickets for 2011’s California Dreams world tour, one of pop’s biggest female artists will head back out onto the road this year in support of her third studio album, Prism.
The 29-year-old has so far only announced the UK leg of her third major concert tour, Prismatic, which kicks off at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on May 7 and concludes with a three-night stint at London’s O2 Arena between May 27 and 30. But a string of dates in her homeland and across the globe are expected to be confirmed in the near future.
As well as promising a ‘less cartoonish’ and more intimate spectacle than her previous live outing, the former Mrs Russell Brand has also recently boasted that the price of Katy Perry tickets will be far more reasonable than most of her peers’ shows, like Lady Gaga tickets or Miley Cyrus tickets, for example. This is a claim backed up by the fact that a limited view seat at Taylor Swift’s forthcoming London gig will set you back $87.53 compared to just $53.78 for a regular seat at Perry’s performance in Newcastle.
Perry, who will perform at the Grammy Awards later this month where she is also nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year for “Roar,” will be supported on the tour by Swedish electro duo Icona Pop, who scored one of last summer’s biggest hits with “I Love It.”
While alongside the Reflection Section, a standing pit which allows fans with Katy Perry tickets to get even closer to their idol, the show is expected to feature all the highlights from her current chart-topping studio effort, her record-tying run of US Hot 100 number ones and early hits “I Kissed A Girl” and “Hot N’ Cold.”
(Update) Katy Perry has announced dates for all upcoming Prismatic shows. Check out that info here.
