Olivia Wise, 16, died Monday after a two year long battle with brain cancer.

The beautiful teen, whose inspirational cover version of Katy Perry’s Roar went viral, “died peacefully in her home surrounded by the extraordinary love of her family,” according to a statement released to CNN.

Olivia’s mom told CNN that her daughter “didn’t want people crying at her funeral, but that they should celebrate her life.”

Olivia recorded her version of Roar in September 2013 after learning there were no more treatments available for her and that it was only a matter of time before she passed away.

The video caught the attention of Perry, who posted a video message to Olivia.

“I was very moved and you sounded great,” Perry said. “I love you. A lot of people love you and that’s why your video got to me. It moved everybody that saw it.

“Keep roaring!”

Olivia’s video helped raise $77,000 for the Liv Wise Fund which supports brain tumor research.

“In many ways, Olivia has lived a shortened, but full life,” her mother told CNN.

“Every day, she wished for a cure, and rarely succumbed to negative thoughts.

“To tell the truth, her diagnosis didn’t change her personality. It only enhanced it. She took the news in a mature, reasonable, responsible way. … Even in the most difficult moments, she managed to bring laughter and friendship to all that were caring for her.”

Rest in peace Olivia.
