The Popdust Files: alicia keys, frank ocean, grammy awards, grammys, jack white, maroon 5

When we called this year’s slate of Grammy performers—Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Mumford and Sons, fun. and the Black Keys—the Most Grammy-ish Lineup Ever, we may have been exaggerating slightly. Because the Grammys have just added a bunch of new performers, making this lineup the Most Grammy Lineup of All Time.

Don’t believe us? Check it out. We’ve got:

—Frank Ocean, critically acclaimed R&B singer who burst out of “nowhere” with a great story.

—Maroon 5, the favorite artist of corner-store radio stations everywhere.

—Presidentially-endorsed Alicia Keys

—Walking Authenticity Debate Jack White

That’s a list every quadrant could love!

Ocean’s presence means that all five nominees in the category of Album of the Year will perform at the February 10 show. The news also has it that Keys and Maroon 5 will be teaming up for a “special performance.” Pray it’s some sort of team-up on Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You,” which the Marooners have covered in the past, and not some sort of godforsaken “This Girl Is On Fire”/”This Love” mashup. The word “This” is not enough to build a remix around!
