Girls’ Generation’s “I Got a Boy” may have polarized some K-pop fans, but that hasn’t stopped the song from shooting straight to No. 1 in its first week. The girls dethroned their own hit, “Dancing Queen,” on the official GAON singles chart this week, with “I Got a Boy” taking the top spot while their new album of the same name settles in at No. 1 on the albums chart. With their latest chart-toppers, The Divine Nine now boast nine No. 1 singles and nine No. 1 albums to their name. What are the odds?

Elsewhere on the singles chart, project group, Dazzling Red, climb 27 places to No. 2 with “This Person,” while Baek Ji Young’s latest power ballad, “I Hate It,” debuts at No. 4, and Brown Eyed Girls’ JeA rounds out the all-female top five with her soulful single, “Let’s Hug.” Further down, Sunny Hill’s “Goodbye to Romance” is now officially the group’s biggest hit to date, remaining at No. 7 for another week, while Yoseob’s “Caffeine” continues to show its impressive longevity at No. 8.
