Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey Think Everyone Cares Too Much About Their “Feud”

According to Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj’s American Idol panel at the Television Critics Association tour, way too many words have been spilled about their ostensible “feud,” and we tend to agree! Is it real? Is it fake? Either way, it’s exhausting to think about. So, let’s scrap the editorializing and let the two judges speak for themselves. Here’s everything both Carey and Minaj said about their professional relationship at Tuesday’s TCA session:
“It’s a passionate panel.”
“It is what it is.”
“We did a song that was from my album and it was called, ironically, ‘Up Out My Face.’ It was one of my favorite songs. And I did feel like she was going to go very far and still have that feeling.”
“I am grateful for anything nice that she or anyone has to say.”
“You know what it is? It’s a distraction from the show and a distraction from the contestants.”
“Time heals all wounds.”
“I did nothing and here we are.”
“It was sort of a one-sided thing.”
“I say nice things about Mariah all the time. She is one of my favorite artists of all time.”
“All the singers come in aspiring to be Mariah, in terms of talent and in terms of career length …”
“Every time we try to talk about the contestants, we have to field questions about [the feud.]”
“I thought you guys forgot about [the leaked video of Minaj and Carey fighting] after my sex tape came out.”
“We are professionals.”
“It was not [a one-sided thing.]”
“Have you ever had an argument with someone you work with?”
Well, that clears up absolutely nothing.
