The Popdust Files: bruno mars, photos

Columbus Day, Canadian Thanksgiving, the birth of Bruno Mars. There’s a lot to celebrate on this second Monday in October, and Mr. Mars has a lot to be happy about in his 27th year, with new single “Locked Out of Heaven” officially on repeat here at Popdust HQ, and second album Unorthodox Jukebox coming in December.
 
Because he’s rarely been seen without one since his breakthrough two years ago, we thought we’d honor the birthday boy by shouting out his favorite accessory: the fedora. It’s a trendy, and at times divisive, piece of headwear, but it fits Bruno’s big band-loving, sensitive singer-songwriter aesthetic, save for those days he’s hoping his hair will give him a few extra inches of height. And it also serves a variety of purposes for the talented performer both on and off the stage. Check it out below.
