Five Styles To Watch Out For in Carly Rae Jepsen’s “This Kiss” Video

Just over a week ago, Carly Rae Jepsen released her latest get-stuck-in-your head single, “This Kiss,” and already, she and her stylist Lauren Shane are hard at work crafting an image for the song’s video. Lauren, who’s pretty active on Twitter and Instagram (and even has her own style blog) let slip a few sneak peeks from the pop star’s fitting yesterday. We eyeballed the shots and found five clues as to what Our Girl will be wearing in the upcoming video.
1. STATEMENT HEELS
Looks like there won’t be any sneakers in this video. Lauren pulled a ton of bold heels for Carly. Fuchsia, emerald, lime green, neon orange, traffic-light yellow, purple, metallic blue, leopard and gold options litter the floor.
Carly went for the cute-girl-next-door route for “Call Me Maybe” and was equally casual in “Good Time,” but all signs point to a pretty glam wardrobe this time around. Notice the glittery platform pump, the sequin-strewed pink mini-dress and, on the racks, what appears to be gold and silver jackets.
For the first fitting, Lauren laid out a bunch of pastel tops similar in hue to the dress that Carly chose to perform on the Today show with Owl City last month.
4. COSTUME JEWELRY
It’s blurry, but we can just make out trays of costume jewels covering the table and bench in the first photo. Carly wore a big necklace for her “This Kiss” performance on Ellen and a cocktail ring for her song at the U.S. Open. It seems that the chunky jewelry will continue.
5. AFFORDABLE (MAYBE?)
H&M bags figure prominently in both photos. Hooray!
