For those who have finally had enough of “Call Me Maybe” or feel a late Glee cover was the song’s official saturation point, Carly Rae Jepsen’s new album arrives just in time to drive away concern that she may be a one-hit wonder. Our Girl returned to The Ellen Degeneres Show, her friend Justin Bieber’s second home and the sight of her American television debut, on the day of her big album release with new maybe-cheating single, “This Kiss,” to prove that she’s not a one-trick pony.

Compared to previous performances at boy band-dominated summer festivals or live collaborations with The Bieb, CRJ surprises us by mixing up her live routine, opting to venture into the crowd and awkward bob her head in front of middle-aged women. She also piles her hair on top of her head in a slightly more refined take on Old Miley Cyrus. One thing that hasn’t changed, however, is Carly’s ability to get a sugary sweet love song permanently stuck in our heads. We’ve already listened to the track six or seven times (today) and can’t get enough. Success!
