Kanye West Wore the Greatest Pants of All Time Last Night

Let us talk about the pants Kanye West wore on a casual ice cream date with Kim Kardashian last night. Which pants? These pants:
There’s a working theory we have about famous people: that, having most of their physical and emotional needs satisfied, many of them have reverted back to a childlike state, which roughly lines up with the age they were when they realized they wanted to be famous. Pitbull, for example, is forever 16, the age where we imagine he first flipped through an issue of Esquire and began dreaming of a glamorous life of wearing suits, sipping vodka and traveling the globe.
How old is Kanye West, then? We’re going to go with 10*. When he has an idea, he’ll throw it at a wall to see if it sticks—no matter how goofy it is. He loves making a statement and being the center of attention, but is untroubled by a teenager’s cynicism. He’s got his gang of friends, and hanging out with them is the most important thing. When it comes to romance, he’s more likely to crush obsessively than seduce.
And if Kanye’s not 10, then we have no idea why he would wear a pair of red leather pants with white kneecap highlights. But we love that he did.
*This is mostly an aesthetics argument. We don’t know any 10-year-olds who could have recorded “Jesus Walks” or “Power” or “Murder to Excellence.”
