Everybody Loves Cee-Lo? R&B Star to Produce and Star In New Sitcom

In case you thought your life didn’t have nearly enough Cee Lo, between his music career and his role as a coach on The Voice and his upcoming Vegas residency (Loberace!), now it looks like he’ll be coming to prime time in a non-reality capacity. Deadline reports that the Ladykiller is set to star in and produce his own family sitcom, having signed a first-look deal with NBC. According to the website, Cee Lo’s show will be “starring Green as a version of himself as he tries to balance his career as a top recording artist and his frenetic home life.” Damn, you can go in just about any direction from there!
We’re a little skeptical about the potential here—much as we like Cee Lo, we think he’s probably a little too spacey to anchor a traditional family sitcom. Maybe if they throw in some sort of CIA subplot, or have the gimmick of the show be that Green is perpetually on hallucinogens for the entire showtime.
