We are a mere two days away from this year’s Fashion’s Night Out, the global shopping party endorsed by Vogue and promoted by celebrities including Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift. Though the Biebs and Swifty aren’t actually confirmed for any events, a bunch of other pop stars have booked in-store gigs in New York City and Los Angeles. Here, the top six.
AZEALIA BANKS AT M.A.C.
506 Broadway, New York, NY 10012; 7 to 10pm
The fashion industry obsession and Alexander Wang muse has a new partnership with makeup giant M.A.C. Azealia has collaborated with the cosmetics company on a limited-edition eggplant-hued lipstick named “Yung Rapunxel” and will be appearing at the M.A.C. boutique in Soho for an exclusive FNO performance. It’s scheduled for 7:45pm, but you’d be smart to get there at least an hour in advance.
SOLANGE KNOWLES AT DVF
874 Washington Street, New York, NY 10014; 6 to 11pm
Solange may be the new face of Madewell, but on September 6th Beyonce’s sis will be spinning at Diane von Furstenberg’s FNO bash in the Meatpacking District. The party, which will be hosted by Girls star Allison Williams and Vogue editor Meredith Melling Burke, will also offer free makeup touch-ups, fortune tellers, drinks and desserts.
CYNDI LAUPER AT MANOLO BLAHNIK
31 W 54th St, New York, NY 10019; 7:30 to 11pm
Pop legend Cyndi Lauper is promoting her new musical Kinky Boots with a performance at the Manolo boutique in midtown. Cyndi goes on at 8:30pm but make sure to get there much, much earlier for the best viewing spots.
MAXWELL AT JEAN-MICHEL CAZABAT
350 Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10014; 6 to 10pm
Though R&B crooner Maxwell hasn’t promised any singing at his FNO appearance, maybe he’ll put on a little impromptu show for fans. Maxwell will be joining shoe designer Jean-Michel Cazabat, who will be signing shoes.
STEFANO LANGONE AT SANTA MONICA PLACE
395 Santa Monica Place, Santa Monica, CA; 6 to 9pm
Remember Stefano Langone, contestant on last year’s American Idol? He’s scheduled to open a fashion show at 7pm with a rendition of his single, “I’m on a Roll.”
FOSTER THE PEOPLE AT INTERMIX
110 N Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA; 6:30 to 9pm
They won’t be performing, but indie band Foster the People has signed on to DJ the FNO party at Intermix in LA. Benefit Cosmetics will have a lipstick and lash bar set up, while tequila brand Avion will be taking care of the cocktails.
