The Popdust Files: conor kennedy, taylor swift

Because it’s never to late to score some beach access, Taylor Swift has made the necessary arrangements to host many a magical, beachfront sing-along on scenic Cape Cod. According to People, the 22-year-old has taken steps to become physically closer to her new boyfriend Conor Kennedy, by purchasing a home in Hyannis Port, Mass. near his family’s famous compound.

A local realtor has confirmed Swift purchased a 13-room home facing the Nantucket Sound last week for $4.9 million, far under the property’s original $13 million listing price. Located across the street from the Kennedy’s home, the house has been on the market for two to four years, so we’re sure agents in the area are happy to see it go; that it went to a superstar who’s bound to have young people flocking to the coastal vacation town in droves by Labor Day is even better.

It’s a little late in the season to be shacking up seaside, but then again, Conor’s the only one in this relationship who has to go back to school at the end of the month. Taking up Massachusetts residency will make traveling to see her beau during weekends away from his studies at Deerfield Academy a lot easier. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried boarding school grub, Tay.

Romantics will coo over Taylor’s decision to move closer to her current love, while dirty minds will wonder if this decision has anything to do with the couple longing for sleepovers that aren’t chaperoned by Ethel. And yet, the relationship feels new enough that we can’t resist conspiring that Taylor may have owned the house all along, and is now merely feigning a relationship with the 18-year-old to better smooth over parking issues and the loud noises her traveling band inflicts on the neighborhood.

But is this the “really cool news” Tay promised us today? Only four more hours left to find out.
