Designer Alexander Wang Makes Azealia Banks New Face of “T” Line

Alexander Wang likes to pal around with cool chicks, and he loves musicians. The designer has featured such non-model-y models as Santigold and Lenny Kravitz’s hipster daughter Zoë in ads for his line of casual basics, T by Alexander Wang. He’s continuing the tradition with his newest face, “vocalist” Azealia Banks.

The designer foreshadowed his choice in May when he invited Banks to be his date to the Met Ball, a.k.a. the fashion world’s prom, where she came dressed in a sexy black leather custom Wang creation. In her new video for his T line, she sings “Van Vogue” while dancing and swinging her hair around. Wang told Style.com that he picked the singer because she “exudes a certain rawness,” but it certainly doesn’t hurt that she also looks fantastic in a crop top.
