The Popdust Files: Beef, chief keef, chris brown, drake, feuds, game, remixes

Chris Brown and Drake’s beef, depending on your standpoint, is either a travesty where one person’s clearly wronged or the most hilarious development to occur in music (if you don’t think about the people whose jobs are endangered cause of it.) It could’ve gone one of two ways from the initial fight. One, it could’ve gotten even more hilarious, perhaps if that boxing match actually happened. Or two, it could devolve into the standard unfunny baseline of passive-aggressive verses on other people’s songs. (Continued fighting is not one of the options because this is Chris Brown and Drake, and come on.)

And seriously–did anyone think something other than option two was going to happen? Here’s the verse in question, from Game’s remix of Chief Keef’s ‘I Don’t Like.” Note how careful Brown is not to burn bridges with Wayne or Nicki Minaj, probably because with Drake and Rihanna (mostly) out of the running, he really can’t afford to lose any more high-profile collaborators.
