The Popdust Files: flo rida, let it roll, music videos
Let’s note, before any of these video shenanigans, that Flo Rida’s “Let It Roll” is composed 50% of Freddie King’s “Let the Good Times Roll,” with 25% hacking by Axwell and 25% Rida flow. We’d call that self-parody if it weren’t what Flo Rida always does; however, we can still call it pretty ridiculous.
We could probably call its video pretty ridiculous, too, except that’s on purpose for sure. It stars YouTube gadfly Keith Apicary, the sort of guy who was once described as “the Borat of the gaming world,” and it costars the bemused citizens of Miami Beach. Check out some highlights, then watch the video below.
First, the opening credit reel, which is pretty blatantly Mistral (the typeface of Drive and school products everywhere.) Try it yourself.
Apicary models all the season-appropriate fashions of 2012.

It is 97 degrees in NYC as I'm writing this, and the thought of wearing a sweatshirt kind of makes me want to encase myself in ice forever.
Apicary chills for a bit.
He hangs out with some women in bikinis.
And he finishes the day off, as one does, with a drink or two.

Oh, and fire. Many Flo Rida videos could be improved with fire.
