It’s pretty convenient for K-pop boy band and prodigiously-haired guys Big Bang–and managers YG Entertainment–that two developments in music are happening in parallel in the States: a pretty entrenched revival of boy bands, and a ratcheting-up of popularity for K-pop, both among media and Internet types and among fans here. So they’re parlaying that into a worldwide push for album Alive, including their first U.S. concert: November 3 at the Honda Center in Los Angeles.
Considering that the K-pop invasion’s got enough real-world traction to sell out Madison Square Garden with a showcase last fall, this is fairly serious business. And there’s an excellent chance that it will be fairly seriously sold out. So if you’ve got any plans on going, you may want to firm them up soon. Start with the video below.
