The Popdust Files: feuds, kanye west, kris humphries, single artwork, song titles, Theraflu, way too cold

Guess the ol’ “No such thing as bad publicity” adage doesn’t really apply in the cold medicine game. Kanye West’s “Theraflu” has already garnered a fair share of controversy for its callouts of PETA and Nets forward Kris Kardashian Humphries, and now the song can officially add a new brand name to its Enemies List. Kanye announced in a press statement that he has changed the song’s name to “Way Too Cold”—allegedly as a “creative decision” but we can assume a healthy dose of pressure from the titular company probably had something to do with it as well. (In other news, old Kanye jams “Barry Bonds” and “Jesus Walks” are now to be known as “Another Hit” and “Y’all Eat Pieces of Shit?,” respectively.)

Of course, this is really one of those good news, bad news situations for Kanye fans. The bad news may be that ‘Ye’s new single has been given a much blander, less catchy title, but the good news is that the single now has super-crazy, nudity-featuring artwork courtesy of George Condo, artist behind all of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy‘s purty pictures. The artwork, of coruse, features a disembodied female torso wearing a fur coat, with a bottle of milk instead of a head. What, you were expecting Hard Knock Life Vol. 2? Check it, mildly NSFW:

Finally, concluding today’s “Theraflu” roundup, someone has taken issue with ‘Ye’s assertion that Kris Humphries is lucky that the rapper didn’t “have Jay drop him from the team”: Nets majority owner Mikhail Prokhorov. “Kris has nothing to worry about,” Prokhorov told the NY Daily News. “I support my players, and I’m on his side in this epic battle.” That settles that, then :Kanye is not the acting general manager of the New Jersey Nets. Anything else, guys?
