We’re not surprised anymore by any level of success that Adele can achieve. Eight million sold in the US? Ho-hum. Swept the Grammys? Yawwwwwn. Beat out Bar Rafaeli and Kate Upton for #1 on Maxim’s annual Hot 100 list? Like we didn’t see that one coming. The only thing that really remains surprising about Adele’s superstardom is that somehow, throughout all this, we still hadn’t figured out who the damn guy was that broke Adele’s heart and caused her to go all Saddy McWeeperson on us. How could such an inspirational a figure in all of our lives possibly remain anonymous for so long?
Well, the douche may finally be out of the bag, so to speak. UK tabloid Heat claims to have the scoop about the inspiration behind such songs as “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone Like You” and
“Price Tag” “Set Fire to the Rain,” identifying Adele’s ex as 31-year-old photographer Alex Sturruck. An anonymous writer friend of the photographer tells the rag about the relationship between photog and budding pop star:
They met through mutual friends while Alex was working for Viceand hit it off straight away. He shot her a few times and that was just it. They spent all their time together – and when they weren’t together they would ring each other constantly…He went with her to the States in January and they shared hotel rooms and he was on her tour bus, all the time photographing her…Adele relied on him a lot, he was her best mate as well as her boyfriend and he was very protective ofher. He’d say no one knew her like he did.
For how the relationship went sour, unfortunately, you gotta actually buy the stupid magazine. And of course, there’s no guarantee whatsoever that any of this is true or accurate. But hey guy, if that actually is you, just talk about everything already. We’re not sure what you’re trying to prove here exactly.
