The Popdust Files: one direction, rumors, sex, tours

You gotta feel for the poor 1Ders. Here they are, enjoying the greatest success of any boy band stateside in over a decade, and they are not able to take advantage of the ultimate perk of the boy band experience—the countless number of teen girls throwing themselves at you with total personal abandon. According to an exclusive (!) in the U.K. tabloid The Sun, One Direction have been given strict orders by record execs to keep it in their pants while on tour in the U.S., out of fear that the group’s squeaky-clean image might be compromised by a scandal. And the band isn’t happy about it, especially Irish member Niall Horan. Says a source close to Horan:

He’s raging about it — all the lads are. Four of them are single and they’ve been told to stay that way as it appeals to their American teen fans. Niall is fighting off the women with his Irish accent and good looks so he’s having to live like a monk.

The list of single 1Ders pissed about the No Nookie policy also includes heartthrob Harry Styles, about whom the same super-knowledgeable-about-1D-sex-lives source says:

He’s come out of a relationship and wants to enjoy his freedom. But he’s having to behave himself and keep the women at arm’s length…And the worst thing is the American girls are literally throwing themselves at them so there is so much temptation in their way.

Well, not literally—that would be weird and probably dangerous—but we get the idea. The one One Direction member getting away with getting some? Liam Payne, who is already in a committed relationship with backup dancer Danielle Paezer. Let that be a lesson to all you boy band prospies out there—get the girlfriend before you get famous and go on your world tour. Otherwise, the road is a long and lonely place.
