Some things to know about Cassie’s video for lead single “King of Hearts”:

1. The teaser gave it the Ultra-Cinematic Recut; the video’s not really like that all. It’s a fairly standard video for what could be a fairly standard, no-BS Nina Sky song. Or to continue the metaphor: it’s the sort of song with the phrase “prince of charms,” not anything about any sorry knave.

2. The fact that I just called this a Nina Sky song is going to make certain segments of the music-blog readership go apeshit. Or, rather, it would had the fact that this is a Cassie song not already done the same. Hype coalesces in the strangest places.

3. This video was endorsed by Lady Gaga for Valentine’s Day. Which means your playlist-making 364 days from now might be that much easier.
