The Popdust Files: arcade fire, hunger games, soundtracks, taylor swift, tracklists, upcoming albums
Here we are, just a month or so shy of the release of the first Hunger Games movie, and it’s getting harder to keep every single thing about the movie a secret. With today comes the announcement of the track list for the movie’s soundtrack—maybe the first non-Twilight event soundtrack of the last half-year or so. And like the surprisingly awesome Twilight audio accompaniments, the list for Hunger Games seems pretty stacked: Two songs from Taylor Swfit (previously released Civil Wars collab “Safe and Sound” and the newer “Eyes Wide Open”), a new track from the Arcade Fire (“Abraham’s Daughter,” what a title, to go with the already known-about “Horn of Plenty” on an accompanying companion album), and some new cuts from Miranda Lambert, Kid Cudi, Birdy, and the Decemberists, among others.
Check out the complete tracklist below for the soundtrack, out March 20th. By the way, anyone else bothered by the fact that both Taylor and the Civil Wars were at the Grammys—and played in the same set—but didn’t bother to do “Safe and Sound,” their ostensible new single from this soundtrack? That’s a good-ass song, people. Have a little faith.
