The award wins continue to trickle in for the 54th Grammy Awards before the ceremonies proper start. First and foremost, expected big winner of the night Adele began her likely award-show immolation by winning for Best Pop Vocal Album (21, duh), while such fellow megastars as Taylor Swift (“Mean,” Best Country Solo Performance), Cee Lo Green (“Fool For You,” Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B song) and Amy Winehouse (“Body and Soul,” Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Tony Bennett—his 17th win, her sixth) have also taken down categories. The big winners so far, however, are Foo Fighters, who as predicted have laid waste to the Rock categories by going four for four in Best Rock Song (“Walk”), Best Long-Form Music Video (Back and Forth), Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance (“White Limo”) and Best Rock Album (Wasting Light).
Meanwhile, a less previously established but no less discussed artist has also joined the party at tonight’s Grammys: Bon Iver, one for one so far with their win for Best Alternative Music Album for their/his self-titled album. Skrillex, Kanye and Bon Iver, all drama-less winners—what is this world coming to?
