The Popdust Files: adam levine, glee, matthew morrison
Adam Levine’s really trying to do so many things other than be involved with Maroon 5, isn’t he? First the Beach Boys reunion (which, to be fair, is in fact with Maroon 5, and was possibly hatched by the Grammy planners and not him), then the golf show, and now starting a record label.
Sure, this is approximately the point in Adam’s career when it’d make sense for him to launch a label; Maroon 5′s been around for quite a while, not including that stretch of time when they were Kara’s Flowers. He’s got the longevity. He also has Matthew Morrison, Glee star, would-be solo star (for some value of “star”) and profferer of outdoor screwing anthems. No, really, this is a thing that happened; his sophomore(!?) album is due out this spring.
While you process that, ponder this as well: “Adam and I share the same vision as we begin working on my record together,” Morrison said in a statement. To be fair, best we get this statement from Morrison and not any Beach Boy. And for fear of upsetting anyone further than we already have, we’ll just leave it at that.
