Notoriously adorable Joseph Gordon-Levitt just upped his viral cover game with a holiday-appropriate duet with his (500) Days of Summer co-star and longtime friend Zooey Deschanel. The two posted their rendition of Nancy Wilson’s “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” to Deschanel’s site HelloGiggles, complete with cutesy anecdotes about how they got through downtime on the set. “When we did 500 Days of Summer 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and make up trailer; we had loads of fun,” Deschanel writes. Beginning with a breathy “Happy New Year,” Deschanel tries to embody the lesser known New Year’s Eve princess with her sparkling tiara—New Girl-style “adorkable” or obnoxious?—and subtle ukulele while JGL’s closed-eye croons and penchant for smiling have made one out five women ovulate on the spot. Lest you think the world would explode from twee overload if these two actually got together—professionally or personally—Deschanel’s gushing about how the two have known each other for 12 years and she just loves the bejesus of out him suggests she’s game.
