Mary J. Blige’s “Mr. Wrong” Gets A Drakeless Video Edit

Mary J. Blige has many lessons to teach the world about love and life. Today’s lesson, courtesy of the video for “Mr. Wrong“: The titular Wrong will never be found inside a music box. Ever. You might find marquee lights, or sets where everything shows up red and blue (sometimes of the oh-so blue shade), or dingy metal rooms to emote inside, but there will be no misters, wrong or right. You also won’t find Drake, if you’re one of the almost certainly existent women trying to avoid him these days.
You will, though, find that “Mr. Wrong” still holds up; it’s like all the feeling that’s been blanched out of this post-”Motivation” chill of a track has collected itself in Mary J’s voice. That does tend to happen when she sings, come to think of it. We may be onto something with this theory!
