The Popdust Files: 21, adele, iTunes, rolling in the deep, sales, year-end lists

All right, then, so far—Adele has the #1 album of the year for Rolling Stone, Time and Amazon.com, and now she also officially has the best-selling single and album of the year on iTunes. (Just taking stock, because we figure it’s only get more ridiculous for her from here with the year-end mishigas.) Though iTunes did not release Adele’s official year-end numbers—they never release sales figures—they also honored the singer/songwriter in the form of their Artist of the Year honors, the first time the same artist has received all three distinctions. “I’m thrilled to top the iTunes album and song charts for 2011 and to be iTunes Artist of the Year is just amazing,” said Adele in a statement. (Because, you know, she can’t actually talk in real life yet.)
