The Popdust Files: interviews, late night with jimmy fallon, t.i., t.i. & tiny: the family hustle
The preview for T.I.’s upcoming reality show T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle left us with many questions—can anyone sit on the Harris family’s white couches? What is Tiny’s real hair color?—but none as pressing as the need to find the meaning behind “booty tag.” During his appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Tip spoke about his intentions for the “family documentary,” while revealing himself to be a hands-on parent who disproves of physical violence. “From my limited knowledge and understanding, you basically smack somebody on the ass and they it,” he told Fallon, who was also unfamiliar with the term. “It’s tag but the place they tag the person is their ass. I told them that’s absolutely unacceptable, however me and my wife love to play. We play all the time.” Congrats, Jimmy Fallon. Your life just got that much richer. Save it for the premiere episode, kids.
Along with discussing plans for his new album Trouble Man, in which he talks about stuff that can get him in trouble, without actually do them this time around, Tip also pimped his new book—yes, book—and made the best case possible for why you should pick up a copy. “Probably because nobody expected me to write a book more than anything else.” Everyone loves an underdog! And this one in particular hopes to better the world around him with the written word. “I wanted to encourage people to read, people need to read more.” If T.I. says it, it will be so.
