The Popdust Files: dubstep, kris allen, viral videos, wtf

Oh, just a bunch of bros, one of whom wears a fraternity T-shirt and one of whom is Kris Allen, drinking wine and making ill-advised jokes that are even more ill-advised once filmed while rapping over a dubstep remix of the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, the weirdest Nutcracker remix since the Pussycat Dolls version. If you ever wanted to hear this sort of thing at 2 p.m., not 2 a.m., this is your early dubstep-Christmas gift? Possibly?

Sigh. The takeaway: which of the following has ruined dubstep more in the recent past?

- The revelation that Korn invented it? (JOKE, JEEZ.)
- Skrillex’s Best New Artist nomination? (Good for him! A lot of people are very confused! Also, isn’t he hardly new?)
