The Popdust Files: chirs colfer, covers, darren criss, glee, pink, tv recaps

We no longer have to wait for a major holiday to hear the next duet from Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) on Glee, as the duo will perform Pink’s “Fuckin’ Perfect” on Tuesday’s “I Kissed A Girl” episode. The on-screen couple previously collaborated on the holiday-themed “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” and will soon be heard on this year’s festive rendition of “Let It Snow.” She may not be as ubiquitous as Adele or Katy Perry, but Pink is no stranger to Lima performance circuit, as Blaine carried his former Warbler teammates with his take on her other underdog anthem—and equally inappropriate song choice—”Raise Your Glass,” during Regionals last year. We’re in support of both the artist and the track, but are Pink songs supposed to define the couple’s relationship now? We would have chosen something a little more vintage.

McKinley’s presidential hopeful takes the lead, but since Blaine may be the most familiar with the at times off-putting rap Pink’s sprinkled throughout her recent tracks, he can be heard speaking his way through song’s end, with Kurt echoing in and out in the higher register. The lyrical content alone makes this song ripe for placement during one of the show’s most gratuitously emotional moments, but sung by Kurt and Blaine, together? Excuse us while we grab tissues.
