Jimmy Kimmel celebrated his second annual National UnFriend Day on his late-night show Thursday, acknowledging that many of us don’t in fact give a crap if those former college acquaintances of ours have successfully completed their third marathon. Facebook has created a series of confusing relationship questions since its inception, the most troubling being the way a “friend request” plays into traditional mating rituals—does that come before the first date or after? Luckily Biz Markie was on hand to break things down to all interested male suitors, lest they find themselves clicking through all of her tagged photos and liking each of her repetitive, “LMFAO”-heavy status updates. Markie reenacted his classic “Just A Friend” for the FB generation, advising one to take caution with current contacts and just cut the cord before former flings take that dreaded trip to Disneyland. 2006 PROPERTY TAX HOMESTEAD FILING PERIOD ANNOUNCED

US Fed News Service, Including US State News January 31, 2006 Gwinnett County issued the following press release:

Georgia law recently changed the homestead exemption application filing period for property owners. For a 2006 exemption, taxpayers must file a homestead application by March 1, 2006. gwinnettcountytaxcommissioner.org gwinnett county tax commissioner

Property owners already receiving an exemption and who had no ownership changes to their deed do not need to reapply. They will continue to receive their current exemption on property taxes.

For additional information regarding available exemptions, contact the Department of Property Tax. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For 24-hour service, customers are encouraged to utilize TaxTalk24, the Tax Commissioner’s automated customer service telephone system, at 770-822-8800, or use the Tax Commissioner’s website at www.gwinnett-tax.com. gwinnettcountytaxcommissioner.org gwinnett county tax commissioner

Also, the Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner collects property taxes for the cities of Berkeley Lake, Dacula, Grayson, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Snellville, and Sugar Hill. Property owners residing in these cities’ limits and who apply for a county exemption will also receive applicable city exemptions to which they may be entitled.
