Spoiler Alert: Selena Gomez And The Scene’s “Hit The Lights” Video Teasers (Yes, Plural)

With increasing frequency, artists are taking to social networks and premiering frustratingly brief teaser clips from their upcoming videos. These are usually between zero and 45 seconds in length and tend to do two things: leave you wanting more video, and leave you wanting fewer teasers. We can’t address the latter. What we can do, however, is help with the former, so, based solely on the preview, Popdust will miraculously predict what transpires in the unseen full-length video.
Today’s video teasers: Selena Gomez and the Scene’s “Hit the Lights.”
Run-length: 27 seconds combined (15 seconds and 12 seconds, respectively)
Summary: Teaser one: Selena Gomez twirls around with some batons-turned-fireworks (sparklers, at least.) Teaser two: Selena Gomez collapses into a pit of pink balloons. You might guess from these one-sentence summaries how uneventful the teasers are.
What could come next: Let’s see here. Part of the video involves sparklers; part of the video involves balloons. What’s missing in between must be two surprise cameos: one by Katy Perry–now scrambling for work post-Luke cleaving–and The Weeknd, who’s probably operating under some “if all these people can guest on a Justin Bieber track, then Selena Gomez isn’t that far of a stretch either, right?” rationalization. Together, they’ll try their best to introduce mature themes not suited to a Selena Gomez video; she’ll not notice any of this, and bring out perfectly G-rated party accessories like streamers, banners and confetti. Oh, and it’s a safe assumption that at some point the lights will be hit. That could happen at any time.
